Excited for the Hunger Games?

When I arrived home this weekend, I was excited to see a package waiting for me in the kitchen.  I knew right away what was inside - the three Hunger Games books I had ordered.  I quickly opened the package and couldn't help smiling when I saw the books sitting before me.  I've only read the first book (The Hunger Games) at the end of the fall 2011 semester but now I'm ready to continue reading the trilogy.  And to continue with Hunger Games excitement, the film is due to come out at the end of this month!  How exciting!
Have any of you read the first Hunger Games book?  Have you already read the entire trilogy?  Are you excited for the film?  Do you think it will be as good as the book?  And for those of you who haven't read the books, are you excited for the film anyway?

  1. I read them over christmas break. I didn't like the third one too much, the ending was good though.

  2. Unfortunately I didn't learn about the Hunger Games until the first film was already produced. My friend, who has read all three of them, was eager to see it so I went this weekend with her. Even though I found the movie to be very good, I really wish I would have known about these books before I saw it. There were alot of action sequences, of course, and I think the movie was geared toward an audience that was expected to have read. It seemed that sometimes the scenes were constructed with the assumption that there would not be a real need for an explanation regarding character motives/the political system of the Capitol. I am probably going to post a review soon so I won't get too into it here but yeah, I really liked it despite being a bit confused at certain points, and I am sure the books are fantastic.
